By Piper Rayne

Release Date: October 13

She’s got two strikes against her.

Her name is Erickson and her parents own The Bagel Place.

It wasn’t always that way. When we were nine, we were best friends. But then a feud between our dads ripped their successful business apart—and my best friend was ripped away too.

Our paths were bound to cross again. When both our families vie for the same spot on a Food Channel’s reality show, the producers decide to change the format, aligning us as allies.

In order to get our parents to agree to work together, Evan asks me to pretend to be her boyfriend, but I dare her to up the ante—be my fiancée. Fake fiancée… obviously.

As usual, I didn’t think things through. Turns out our parents have a lot of demands neither one of us expected.  And all those demands lead to things feeling more real than fake.

Whilst I haven’t read the previous books in this series. The chemistry between these two were obvious. They had been circle each other for a long while. Seth’s and Evan’s paths had crossed as long as they could remember thanks to their dads.

However neither made a move. Until now and their relationship was forced to be changed in order to make their families happy.

What starts as a partnership seems to burry the hachet and go for the stars.

Until it becomes a little too real. They were fun and I enjoyed watching these two learn about each other whilst under a guise. They knew how to banter and put the past behind them. They made life more interesting together despite all the barriers. Rayne wrote a fun contemporary and if you love food romances this one is for you. Another enjoyable book from this duo

Legacy by Rachel Robinson

Coming in 2020, a full-length, standalone novel in Corinne Michaels Salvation Society World.

Set in the CRAZY GOOD world, LEGACY will be a crossover novel featuring Aarabelle Dempsey and Luke Hart.

Aarabelle Dempsey always knew her true destiny and master plan. She was merely prolonging the execution by travelling the world for a year after she graduated the Naval Academy. A hidden romantic, she anticipated falling in love at some point. A British up and coming recording artist tempted her with love, but instead of proposing marriage, he stomped on her heart by having a sordid, highly publicized affair with a media mogul debutante.

With Aarabelle’s mom, Natalie at the helm of CJJ Public Relations at their San Diego branch, and her Dad, Liam now finishing his career as a SEAL BUD/S instructor in Coronado, she is back to seize what is rightfully hers and heal her broken heart.

Aarabelle will be the first female Navy SEAL.

One teammate, Luke Hart, has his own LEGACY to fulfill, and even though she’s off limits, and as complicated as their friendship becomes, Luke finds himself questioning everything about what he thought he wanted.

Luke and Aarabelle might be following the legacy set forth for them by their parents, but the love they find along the journey is legendary…and forbidden.

This was the perfect introduction Robinson and her writing by doing a crossover with the children of two beloved characters.

Two young people shaped by their parents to love the Navy for different reasons and they have a legacy to carry on. It’s not easy being in either shoes. Arabella especially. I admired her throughout the book, wanting to do it on her own terms and letting no one stand in her way.

Luke was an interesting choice given his past history with her. Childhood memories are always rose tinted to extent so I wasn’t surprise the way Luke questioned things. He was determined to forge his own path but Arabella really threw him off.

Obviously with these two in close quarters and the fact they are training to be Seals. There is the element of forbidden. I enjoyed it as it forced them to make them work for it and balance everything out.

Robinson really made readers think about the role of woman in the navy by giving us Arabella. It really challenged Luke and brought to the table , a story that could be reality at some point. Who knows but it’s beautiful story.
