Rating: 4 out of 5.

I’d only wanted one kiss.

One kiss, under the dark of night, in a city where no one knew us.

One kiss fueled by my hormones and alcohol and the blinding grief over losing my mother.

One kiss from the man I told myself was untouchable.

But, it didn’t stop at one kiss.

And now we are running full speed down a road with no intention of stopping.

His touch disarms me.

His kiss revives me.

But, our love, could destroy me.

The first time, I saw him, it was love at first sight.

With those words uttered by the heroine Stasia at a young tender age when she  shouldn’t be worrying . I know this age gap romance was going to be complicated.  And it was once Stasia was faced with mortality that makes her become reckless and see what she wants.

This where  it becomes interesting story as this story is turned on its head as we watch the heroine and hero face the music so speak. This was steamy and the  it delivered in spades. This romance was meant to be if you can let yourself lead the characters lead the way

I have read many in this genre but Love Unexpected is definitely one of my favourites. It’s very in your face but written so beautifully as Dominic comes to terms with what Stasia wants from him. The relationship is unconventional to say the least. It’s not like they met when they were at consensual ages. Stasia has had Dominic in her life since she was ten and  only now face with her mother’s death, she truly comes to term with the feelings she had for Dominic and becomes a feisty woman determined to get her way.

There  was an obvious age gap and it felt slightly weird but it worked given the history between these two characters. There was small seeds planted that made you think this could work by the way they interacted and the conversations that they had. It’s not all sex and steam. There is a story that intertwines in between those scenes that will leave you addict to their brand of love. There is plausible reason for their relationship and the chase was worth the effort.

Definitely will be reading more of Taylor’s taboo story as her brand is on point and the writing make it more just then a sensual book. It’s about the connection and the drama that comes with choosing a relationship that may bring a lot of love but a whole series of problems.
