David took Lianna to destroy her… and then everything got complicated.

Falling for the girl he kidnapped shouldn’t have happened. Especially not Lianna Mercier, daughter of the man he hated, and heir to a family name steeped in blood and violence.

But, now she’s his entire world, and Lianna’s is burning down around her.

David may have lit the match that set her life on fire, but all he wants now is to keep her safe. With their future on the line… can he even ask her to choose him after all he’s done?

I wasn’t completely sold on the first instalment of this series. Lianna seem to be too numb to everything and let David control the scene. It didn’t sell to me as dark romance as there was many scenes where David just unleashed everything but didn’t convince me.

This second instalment is different as the now Lianne is trying to control the picture.with the relationship changed and now that Lianne is free to peruse a future on her own terms.

This felt dark as the new players on the scene truly did sell this as a dark romance. With the background story more clear given the events of the first book. it’s hard not get addicted to this story and wonder how Lianne and David can survive.

David does still come across as the alpha possessive man who doesn’t know what to do in a situation he can’t control. He truly shows what is missing from the first book. He caught up in a situation that no ones knows the ending of and the third book is going to be either make or break.
