They betrayed me.
Three boys I thought I knew.
Leaving me with the one I thought I hated most.
It was him who carried my broken, beaten body. Him who cleaned my wounds and held me tight.
The prince to my princess.
I won’t be that girl anymore. The one who fell for their smooth words and smoldering looks.
Colt is key to never being her again.
There’s still a killer on the loose.
Still a murder left unsolved.
Still three boys who own my heart.
But some dangerous little secrets are better left buried.
His is one of them.

Hot off the events of the first book. Lacey is back as she navigates life and the aftermath of the events that changed her life forever.
She fell for three guys and they have destroyed her. Especially Colt and he is merciless as he picks up where we left off with the gang.
Lacey is determined to become a shadow of her former self and this instalment is truly her’s. The boys do add to the story but we watch everything from her perspective. Lacey is commanding the show and isn’t going let anyone walk over her.
There is a lot of spoilers in this instalment if you haven’t read the previous instalment which set up the events of this book. The plot is left best to discover for yourself but Thorpe has this down pat this bully genre.
The guys have really come into their own and with the murder hanging over them still. We get to see the dynamics of the different relationships Lacey has with the guys strengthened and played to their strengths. Colt took some convincing considering the moves he made in the first book but who doesn’t love a bad boy redemption arc. With all things considered, this is a solid second
