And it’s made infinitely worse when a bad review puts her job on the line.

Food critic Jonas Rice is infuriated when his review is accidentally switched. He personally goes down to assure the restaurant a retraction will be printed only to walk in on Trina being thrown out.

By the end of their first conversation, she’s daring him to lead her life for one month.

Much to her surprise, he accepts with one major caveat — she agrees to being

In the end, will Trina be able to accept life isn’t always about rising to a challenge? Will she be able to find there’s joy in finding compromise — both in the kitchen and in Jonas’ eyes.

I adored the Fusion novels from Proby so this was a no brainer as it allowed to me to discover a new to me author. Jerald brought back the memories of this series with her inclusion into this universe. The Fusion books were all about food and family and this book had both of them . Giving the best of both worlds.

The heroine Trina is a sweet single mum of twins who on her path to rediscover herself after a bad marriage. She isn’t looking for love but when her career as a pastry chef is questioned by the hero, Jonas. Sparks fly professionally and personally and the rest is history so they say.

Jonas isn’t ready either for love. He has a past that makes him question things especially when he is called out as a critic. What starts as a challenge becomes a shared journey of discovery and Jerald works her magic here to get these two to realise what they have is special and worth the fight.

It’s a sweet romance celebrating what the original novels where known for. Strong woman and how they can make things work their way.

Tracey Jerald knew she was meant to be a writer when she would re-write the ending of books in her head on her bike when she was a young girl growing up in southern Connecticut. It wasn’t long before she was typing alternate endings and extended epilogues “just for fun”.

After college in Florida, where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice swearing she saw things she’ll never quite believe and never quite forget, Tracey traded the world of law and order for IT.

Her work for a world-wide internet startup transferred her to Northern Virginia where she met her husband in what many call their own happily ever after. They have one son.

When she’s not busy with her family or writing, Tracey can be found in her home in north Florida drinking coffee, reading, training for a runDisney event, or feeding her addiction to HGTV.
