Author: Nina Lindsey
Genre: Spicy Sweet Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 30, 2020
High school literature teacher Grace Berry is an expert on Shakespearean love, but she knows almost nothing about real-life romance. She has no time to learn either, as she’s busy battling overbearing parents, a bullying principal, and a stubborn father.
Then she suddenly finds out that award-winning author Lincoln Atwood is coming to take over her classes. No way will she surrender her authority to a hotshot male writer who doesn’t know the first thing about poetry. Even if he is sinfully sexy.
After making a deal with his estranged brother, Lincoln is forced to stay in Bliss Cove for over a month. He’d much rather be racing sled dogs or mountain biking, so why not take a teaching gig to kill the time?
But Lincoln’s belief that teaching will be “easy” is quickly proven wrong after he confronts the intriguing Grace with her embroidered sweaters and spine of steel. And when he learns about the sizable gap in Grace’s education, the plot thickens considerably.
Too bad this beautiful teacher is off-limits…or is she?
Adorable doesn’t even begin to describe these two in the latest Bliss Cove series. If you haven’t had a chance to discover Nina Lindsey previously, this is the perfect book to dive in and discover her writing. It’s standalone and Bliss Cove is charming. It will appeal to anyone who appreciates literature as these leads live and breathe literature in very different ways.
Lincoln is the hot shot author that has been forced to adapt and change his plans when he reconnects with his brother Sam and he is forced to confront the past they both have been trying to hide from. It’s not easy but Lincoln is at crossroads with the family company and wants to save the people he cares about .Agreeing to stick around and experience this coastal town isn’t hard as he soon finds himself integrating into the town through the locals and the school. Especially a certain red-hair women who he had a moment with that left a lasting impression on him .
He has reservations about her and Grace does to when they are teamed up together to help with Grace’s classes .It’s getting to hard to stay away even when she puts her foot down and he agrees to her plans . They aren’t cut out for a serious relationship. It’s all about the moment they are caught up in .
It’s just a fling but then there was angst thrown in and emotions and this story made their uncomplicated relationship complicated when it came to push verse shove.
Grace is a Shakespeare nerd who truly care about his writings and teaching literature to her students. She lives it and her students generally appreciate her but she hit a roadblock in the form of Lincoln. He interferes in her plans and she isn’t happy as she has her life planed out to a T. She need Lincoln to push her boundaries and he did.
The second half really took the direction that I was hoping it would after the big moment. It’s not a life shattering love moment but it made sense given these two basically not knowing how to act around each other. I love how passionate they were both were when it came to literature in different ways. This was the core of the novel and title is spot on for this book as Grace needed worldly experience that Lincoln was willing to offer.
Nina Lindsey is a new author to me but I enjoyed this small town romance between these two. It felt like she was a seasoned writer and she is thanks to some research. I will be definitely will be returning soon to her writing soon as I love this sweet romance. It’s not spicy but it had some heat that was perfect for a sleepy coastal town that has plenty of happenings it seems given the events that took place in this novel.
