“Look out for Zach and don’t hit on him.”

My brother’s request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself.

Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I’ve always thought was cute, I don’t have the time to think with my … stick.

There’s only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that’s my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract.

The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice.

Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

People confuse me.

And no one more than Foster Grant.

I’ve barely spoken two words to him in the whole time I’ve known him, but the second I step foot on campus, he’s impossible to shake.

I can never anticipate his next move. And whenever we’re together, my next move is a total mystery as well.

I want to give in to him, but that might mean coming clean about something I’ve never been bothered about before.

I’m still carrying my V-card.

And I think it’s time to turn it in.

Dipping my toes back into M/M genre means seeking out new authors that have captivating stories. Finely and James did that just with their first co-written romance.

Opposites attract in this story which tells the story of two young men who share a common person, Foster’s brother Seth.
Foster and Zach couldn’t’ be more different if they tried. Ever since they met in freshman year in college. Neither of them have shaken the images they are known for . The jock and the nerd which they are known to each other barely scratching the surface past the acquaintance .

Until this year and we find ourselves with falling for the best friend brother trope. Zach recently transferred to Foster’s school and after three years sticking away . The temptation is only too real for Foster who patiently waited to get to know Zach thinking he is cute the whole time.
And he is. Zach is cute of the good kind. He has no clue what he gets himself into and Foster may have been there for one thing but it was obvious he was going to stick around for another reason.

It moves pretty fast as the two spend a bit of time together thanks to Seth’s role in the story. Seth thinks that Zach is still naive and will get used.
Well he does but the most pleasurable way possible as these two quickly heat up campus and let love do the talk and figure out their relationship

This doesn’t feel like a trope romance. Both have their struggles with their identity and take their time to discover what they could have for the past three years. It’s a sweet how they navigate the challenges and deal with the awkwardness with humour and snark. There some memorable scenes as they deal with the obstacles that could destroy their budding relationship. It’s a fun and sweet romance that plays to the strengths of the troope with outbeing cliche. I enjoyed reading my first book from these two authors and look forward to reading more in the future.

She doesn’t take anything too seriously and lives to create an escape from real life for her readers. The ideas always begin with a wackadoodle premise, and she does her best to turn them into romances with heart.

She’s also an Australian girl and apologises for her Australianisms that sometimes don’t make sense to anyone else.
