She was the fruit of a forbidden tree, but nothing in this world was going to stop me from tasting her.

My name is Dylan Murphy, and I work for the rich and powerful of an exclusive Manhattan building. Graham Morgan was my first boss, but soon after I was working with some of the most famous entrepreneurs, business moguls, and movie stars in the city. They trusted me because I always followed the cardinal rules:

Never betray secrets. And never, under any circumstance, get personally involved.

I’d never dreamed of violating my professional mantra.

Not until she walked past me.

The look we exchanged that night set my body on fire, and I knew right then and there that no matter the consequences, she was going to be mine. But she was one of them—off limits and out of my league, but she was the kind of woman who I was willing to risk everything for.

I keep other people’s secrets for a living, but the biggest secret of all might be my own.

Christopher Harlan won me over with this wrong side of the tracks made good story about two young people trying to fit in with the rich and powerful of New York.  It’s a feel good story about two people who are more than deserving to rise up and have a good life . However to get there is a quite a journey and this story is their journey to HEA and hopefully making all their dreams come true.

Dylan Murphy is an ex military man who lives his life by rules and regulations. He has settled  and made his name as the secret keeper . He has his job to assist  people in his boss’s building. No job is too small or big  for him. He has served  Graham well but things are changing and Dylan needs to find his future.  This where our heroine enters the picture and things really get moving  as Dylan is forced to make choices that questions everything he has ever thought about.

Dylan never had an issue doing his job find his kryptonite and this story tells the story of his undoing with Penelope.

I think this story was cleverly thought out. Giving an inside look to a world from another perspective. As Dylan seemed to be an interloper but he actually fitted in quite well despite his background. It was something that came useful as the story progressed and we delved into the seedy side of the powerful.   He was the man that was the hero that was need for the story that was unfolding. Penelope was a girl who was a lost so it was perfect for Dylan to take charge in this book. It made sense as allowed this world to expand in ways I didn’t expect. One of the highlights was  seeing Graham, having a relationship with someone that wasn’t a loved one who understood him. It allowed Dylan to fit in and made the connections possible. It was such a satisfying ending after the tumultuous story that unfolded.
