Alexa Purdy has sworn off men, and he’s her worst nightmare.
Arrogant and flirtatious, and now International Airlines’ newest pilot, Jake Campbell has a panty-dropping smile and a body to match. But he’s no match for Alexa’s cold heart.
Plagued by a bad reputation and a bitter divorce, Alexa is determined to make a name for herself outside of the bedroom. As International Airlines’ only female pilot she’s had to work twice as hard and she won’t let someone like Jake bring her down.
But she’s surprised to find he’s nothing like she expected him to be. Even more surprising is her growing attraction to him and his obvious attraction to her—an attraction that causes her to question whether swearing off men is such a good idea after all.
But when Jake’s past resurfaces, she realizes getting close to him may be her biggest mistake of all.
Woman can do anything right?
Raye’s Stuck Up Pilot has the tables turned with a woman lead who could give all the heroes in this world a run for their money. Alexa Purdy has had her heart hurt one too many times and she has shut the door behind her. She has the reputation of being cocky not taking anything from men except sex and letting herself be in control until Jake enters the picture. She owns it and not afraid of how she will be judged. There something refreshing of having this standard on a woman without the judgement and shows how we should treat woman the same regardless how it may seem. It works well given Jake the hero is of a similar way but when they both come together is magical
Jake is the typical character that you would expect from this world. He knows of his appeal and uses it to his charm. Until he forced to work with with Alexa who makes him both of their buttons and force them to change.
Despite this being a romance, you can see what Raye is playing with . The issue of pay inequality and how Alexa is treated in this male dominated professional. It’s a celebration though and I love how Alexa uses her powers to make her wishes come true and serve some female empowerment to the airline. It’s not just a celebration of female empowerment , Raye written a steamy romance with plenty of chemistry and how we as readers should question the standards.
Raye has written a thought provoking book and I can’t wait to read more of her writing.
