In this New York Times bestselling sequel to Kerri Maniscalco’s haunting #1 debut Stalking Jack the Ripper, bizarre murders are discovered in the castle of Prince Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula. Could it be a copycat killer…or has the depraved prince been brought back to life?

Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe’s best schools of forensic medicine…and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend.

But her life’s dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school’s forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.

Hot of the success of their first solved mystery. Cresswell and Aubrey seem perfectly happy in their status as crime solving duo. However  on a romantic note things seem afoul.

With their passion for Forensic Medicine and Science not dampened,  in the second book we see these on a cross continent journey to Romania where  school awaits them. However Aubrey doesn’t know to change their status of their personal relationship. She wants to be independent but her feelings for Thomas have only grown stronger.

Cresswell the sweet boy has determined himself to be her guardian and whilst he is a bit of bumbling fool doing this job. It only adds to the story and the events of the previous book. He means well and I  get why he was challenged to do so.

As the mystery in this book is even more gruesome then the last book and these two left their own devices. Whilst charming as always, the introduction of the new characters adds spice to the story.  Thrown Aubry in to a tail spin as continues to challenge the norms of this era by becoming a trailblazer for her  family.

It brings things into to  new light and until the dying pages, this story will have you hooked  with another dark delicious adventure that relives in the darkness and not afraid to go there. The inspiration for this tale was good as the last one. I love the nod to the classic folklores that Romania is known for.  Hunting Prince Dracula was good as the first book for different reasons. I loved the creative liabilities that Maniscalco took with the legend.  With the way things ended on the first book, it was good to see that she didn’t put readers through too much heartbreak . However it means this third book is going to pack and punch and can only imagine what is going to happen next.
