Blog : Marriage of Inconvenience (Knitting in the City #7) by Penny Reid

Marriage of Inconvenience, an all new romantic comedy standalone in the USA Today bestselling, Knitting in the City Series by Penny Reid, is available NOW!

There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is *that* Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.

Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity—and heart—all in one piece.

Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent—or as trustworthy—as she thought?

Marriage of Inconvenient is the latest and final book  in the long running Knitting in the City series  and takes  fans on a journey to remember by retuning  moments to where the gang really shone whilst giving as a totally new story that will have everything  that you love about this series. Finally it’s Kat turn and her story  is one that like the others stories that have come before her. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows  and  the story runs parallel  in the same timeframe as other books .  It  is a book definitely written for the fans and there is plenty to love about the latest couple.

I couldn’t remember much about Kat or Dan the security man except for the brief mentions in other stories.  No surprise given that Kat has had a monster secret that basically makes her current life an entire lie. She  may be in control  of her life as she likes it but it was about to change. Plus she was totally quiet and all things considered it was no surprise when it all came tumbling out . Well Kat got quite the story and she about to take Dan along for the ride.   It blew my mind and honestly I enjoy the final instalment not only for the romance of course but the concept that she tied into whole scenario.

This was truly the perfect way to say goodbye to them with an adventure that gets the whole gang involved.  Like the others books, there is a strong storyline ripped from the headlines. I like the idea of Kat being an heiress to a company that she believes she not ready totally responsible for.  Instead she being forced into a situation where she can’t control the decisions total and being forced to allow Dan into her world despite having hesitations. Allowed to see that   she shied away from what truly mattered and need to embrace the good and the bad. With help of her friends of course and those are some of my favourite moments in this book. Aside from the ones with Dan of course.

For two people who seem totally opposite when we seem together for the first time in this book. It was surprised how much they had in common aside from the obvious. It allowed to explore many things and this book never got boring.

I loved seeing everyone  come together  to help one another and seeing key memorable scenes from another POV. Kat was truly the perfect heroine to end the series, with an arc that was part redemption, self discovery and romance.  The final book won’t disappoint but I’m said to see this series end.
