There is nowhere to hide from a Hunter determined to find his mate.

Lindsey Walters is a blogger who takes the craziest assignment of her life—sneak aboard a freighter bound for the terrifying alien prison planet known as The Colony and find out the truth about what’s happening to Earth’s brave soldiers.

A Hunter from Everis banished to the Colony, Kiel’s focus is to search for hidden enemies on his new home planet, not love. But when his mark awakens and he shares dreams with an unknown woman, everything changes. When he finds her offered as the prize in the Colony’s brutal fighting pits, he must fight for her with every ounce of strength he possesses, or risk losing her to another.

Goodwin never disappoints with   the tales from  The Colony which is differs from the original series that inspired  the spin off series .   Unlike the other series, we have an overall continuing arc that keeps bring surprises and twists as we learn about more The Colony. After two books , a lot has happened and honestly there was a lot that could have been explored in this novel.  As The Colony has it own set of unique  problems we have seen .

We have seen The Colony at work  from new arrivals to the high ranks so I wonder what was in store for us this time  around. I never expected that we would revisit  the past again but in a different  new direction.    Earth has only been part of things for a while and  things haven’t been always smoothed as we seen so far from either series.

So it  is no surprise they would question things and I love the concept Goodwin came up with to challenge things  by giving us Lindsay Walter. Now if you know the rules, you know how the bride system works and Lindsay doesn’t fit the bill. She  is a single mother who is trying to  pay her medical bills for her son . Never  expecting to do any thing extraordinary with her life but  provide the information to the great public as a blogger .

Until a crazy assignment sees her breaking all the rules in the universe in the name  of justice . As she has been asked to find out the truth about The Colony as the second hand information isn’t enough some people.

They want up  close first hand information and Lindsay is supposed to get the information.  Easy right , just sneak in and out. But this is The Colony and nothing is so simple when it comes to this planet.   The warriors  may have a few extra modifications and unable to return home. But they expect  mates and when unmarried woman like Lindsay turns up it going to cause chaos.

Which exactly does happen as isn’t an everyday occurrence of a woman just popping out of nowhere .  And there only one man who can help Lindsay out . Kiel who is more than happy to see her and willing to claim her  and save trouble.

However this story is only beginning and  Linsday’s arrival is the least of their  problems.   .  I love the direction Goodwin  is heading with this arc. Whilst I love how she tries to keep the flow of the books same with the whole process and matching.  The Colony is an unique place and need e to have it challenged and  constantly  evolving. So this new direction was welcomed as it allowed to  challenge the greater universe again.  I can’t wait to see what next for this The Colony as  this book left things on an interesting note as usual .
