Imperfect Love Kindle World by Kendall Ryan and Guests Review

I loved the first round of the  Imperfect Love Kindle World so I was excited for this round. Whilst I initially wanted to read the first round because of a couple authors I loved were involved.  It soon came apparent that I wasn’t going to enjoy only their tales and discovered a few new authors along the way. Now the second round  is about to release and I was lucky enough to read most of  them early.

Not Her – Julia Bright

Jason Delany Baxter-Scott…the fifth. What a terrible name to have to live up to. There is no question in his mind that he’ll never live up to his parents’ expectations. Baxter, as he is known to his friends, is trying, but when his fiancée dumps him, he has less than an hour to find someone to stand in to meet his demanding mother and father. He knew Heather in college, and she recently sent a note, saying she’d moved to New York. It was a dick move, but he invited her for drinks, only to introduce her to his parents as his fiancée.

Heather is still the same free-spirited woman who challenged him to be his own man in California. She’s nothing like the women his parents’ think he should marry, and that makes her forbidden fruit. He admires her for standing up for herself and never backing down. She’s got spunk and a whole lot more that turns him on and leaves him wanting.

Heather Burke doesn’t put up with BS. She’s worked hard to develop a clothing line that sells in her own high-end boutiques. Her style may be quirky, but she’s business savvy and worldly. When Baxter contacts her, she’s in for a drink or two, but when she arrives, and his parents think she’s the fiancée, the night is turned on its end. Baxter told her story after story about how horrible his parents were so she can’t abandon him, but going along in this ruse may just be the end of her.

Back in California, she lost her heart to Baxter, and this fake fiancée stuff may just take her mind too. When he’s not bowing to his parents’ pressure, Baxter is a decent guy, someone she could see herself with for the rest of her life. She just has to convince Baxter he doesn’t need their approval to be a good man.

When the stakes get high, they both are challenged. Can Heather walk away from Baxter, or will she stay and teach him to fight for himself?

What if the wrong girl is the right girl?
In Not Her, Baxter needs fiancée fast. As the fifth Jason Delany Baxter- Scott there some high expectations for him set by his family. He needs to marry the right girl, produce a heir and be prepared to run the family business when his father retires.
However Baxter isn’t that sort of guy and quickly comes apparent when we met Heather , the girl he has been pining over for years. She seems the total opposite of him , but they had a connection once. She is willing to risk things so there something there right ?

A second chance at love is always a winner for me as I love this cliche and it never gets old for me. I loved the twist with this one and enjoy this novella. This was my first book from this author and I couldn’t help getting swept up in things . Heather was feisty but a sweetheart. She didn’t care what people thought and she was refreshing. She was just what Baxter needed if he could figure things out. He had the tools but his parents were so demanding . They really took the cake and could almost be described as villains given their judgement. It was such a sweet ending and I enjoyed this tale . True love will always win.

ARRANGED by FiFi Flowers

Ireland Dumont loved her life—single with not a care in the world, running her own online concierge company. On the edge of ultimate success, her parents stepped in and arranged a proper groom for her to marry. Giving over to their request, she heads to Vegas to celebrate her last days of freedom.

Meeting a handsome stranger was not on her agenda.

Accepting his marriage proposal was the perfect addendum to her agenda.

Jensen Callum needed a wife for his new business venture with a company that prided themselves on being a family-owned operation. His old playboy status was about to be nipped in the bud by his parents when he returned home from his business trip to an arranged marriage of their doing.

What will happen when Ireland and Jensen’s families find out that they arranged their own marriage venture that wasn’t in the grand scheme of things?

Arranged is the sort of story I could read  time after time .  It’s cliché but with a twist that makes it refreshing and not cheesy . Fifi Flower is a name that I’m familiar with but haven’t read before. I’m kicking myself as usual. This is never going to change as there so many talented authors like Flowers that I missed.  In Arranged, two individuals who are spending a wild weekend in Vegas, decide to take advantage of  the setting and take things into their hands.

Ireland  only wants to run her  concierge business and make it successful. She wants to carve out her own success but her father is old schooled and expects her to get married  and be a house wife.  He want to merger his business with another business, and what better way by arranging an marriage with the son of the business own .  Match made in heaven as they both get what they want and every one is happy.

However this no old school tale, this a modern take on things and Ireland isn’t happy .   Ireland is in Vegas  celebrating her impending doom. She may agree to her parent’s plans but she rather live her life her way. Lucky for her, things take an interesting turn when she meets Jenson who is in own his similar position. In Vegas, for business and pleasure, Jenson  is about to start the next part of his career.

Only problem is that he needs a wife  to improve his image and be presentable to his partners. So what better way then to take things into his own hands and offer Ireland what she wants on her terms.  What if they both turn the tables on their respective parents and foil their plans?

It only can end in two ways right ?

Arranged is the answer and offers a 21 century alternative to a time old traditional. I loved how Flowers took the idea and did a modern take on things. Whilst some elements were cliché and  the whole arrangement  isn’t too far from the original idea. I did enjoy the tale. Flowers knows what readers want with this tale and I enjoyed the characters and their story.

Up-and-coming artist Bianca Black has her eyes set on one thing, and one thing only: Transforming her late grandmother’s building into the gallery of her dreams. All is going according to plan until legal issues arise and a sexy-as-hell club owner gets in her way. Losing the building could leave her homeless, bringing a whole new meaning to starving artist.

Entrepreneur Ford Phillips, always gets what he wants and this time won’t be any different. He has spent years trying to buy the old, run-down building nestled between the high rises of Manhattan. Just when he thinks it’s within his reach, he finds himself in for way more than he bargained for.

Bianca and Ford must call a truce in an attempt to “fake it ’til you make it.” Can these two keep things amicable or will this Fakeover turn Hostile?

Hostile Fakeover  was  another novella from a new to me author and I didn’t know what to expect like most of the  books set in this world. I have been diving blind into them with out any expectations and clues about the story. Wanting my experience to be pure and unbiased as I have been really enjoying these stories .

This was another fun one . The heroine has big dreams. Bianca is an artist and hopes to use her grandmother’s beloved brownstone as a galley and home for her. However she hit a bump in her plans and it’s a big one. Her grandmother just died and she just found out she took a loan to pay for  Bianca’s degree.

It’s a big bump as  she only has thirty days to pay off the loan or lose the house as there is three hundred thousand loan hanging over it with no payment.  You can get the idea was going to happen

However it isn’t the only thing on her mind, her grandmother has another surprise for her . Ford Philips an unlikely friend of her grandmother who has been trying to buy the building.

He has his own plans and knows what Bianca has been planning and so he comes up with a clever plan. A takeover but he won’t go through if she comes up  with the money. He even promises to do up the place.  So what is the catch?

Hart idea is clever and I loved the battle of wills here.   Ford sweet talking his way to do a hostile takeover but really he thinks he has it in the bag by agreeing to a fakeover  . Whilst Bianca is all ready to play hardball the moment when it really gets dire . However things get mixed up along the course  and you can image with both of them living in the same quarter and lines get blurred.  As they learn about each other lives and see things aren’t that so bad.  It’s sort of enemies to lovers story because they are in a truce though there are still some fireworks. Fireworks that shouldn’t be missed if you like this sort of story .

Liar By Stephanie St. Klaire

Fake it until you make it. That was the mantra Cori Dash chanted as she chased a big city dream. The more you tell people you’re on top of the world, the more they believe it – just like they believed the embellished image she sold them with her knock off designer facade. It wasn’t lying if the truth stood somewhere in the middle – and she didn’t get caught.

Dominic Blackthorne owned half of that big city…and a reputation. Rather than dispel rumors or show the world the real Nick, he let his own fake image run free. Until Cori Dash – the only person who told him exactly how it was, even if it stung.

When Cori is faced with her ex-fiance, now engaged to her ex-best friend, it’s game on. In her boldest move yet, she concocts her biggest lie to date by introducing the first handsome stranger that walks by as her new fiancé. Happy to play the part, Nick is already planning the fake wedding of her dreams.

You know what they say about lying – the truth always comes out – and it hurts. Especially when Cori finds out she isn’t the biggest Liar in this game, and she’s been out played.

I love a romantic comedy that is outrageous and Liar fit the bill perfectly.  As every page it got more entertaining as the antics  got stepped up higher.  Nick and Cori were a hoot and  I couldn’t get enough of them  as they did what many of us just dream of doing.  It maybe been a bit childish but who cares as it was light hearted humour.

Fake it till you make it. Cori’s motto is one that is not too unfamiliar. In fact you wouldn’t be hard press to find someone in New York living by the motto. Cori determined to be someone in New York and she has a  dream goal in sight. Then she can finally be herself without having to guard  her secrets.

Unfortunately it is about to come tumbling down when faced with her ex –fiance and ex best friend who are now engaged  to each other, decide to pop up again and cause havoc in her careful planned life.  She was desperate , just one lie and send them  on their way. She just had to   grab any guy and  hope they would go with the flow. Instead  she got Nick. He was more then happy to play along and a story is born.

You have to read it to believe but Nick  is her boss and it could have ended so badly but Kleir  ends hams it  up and takes  readers an adventure with the duo. There will be plenty of laughs as you quickly see why but there is a quite tender romance alongside as well.

And best thing of all. The ending , that sweet ending after everything. Was the perfect ending and  I couldn’t be happier .  Nick was one of those swoony guys who lived up things  and was the perfect partner in crime for Cori.  She needs someone like him and I loved how everything turned out with some help from few characters that you will met and love along the way.

Operation Girl Next Door by Casey Hagen

Trevor Myers knows how to make it big in the business world: a charming smile, connections, and balls-to-the-wall fearlessness. The master of all three, a partnership with his firm is all but in the bag. That is, until his boss dangles it over him, and three coworkers, like a prize on a game show. Trevor will do whatever it takes to lock in what is rightfully his, even if it means calling in a doozy of a favor from his best friend.

Piper Bradley is on the precipice of making a career-altering decision to expand her dancewear line. Agonizing over the decision, Piper decides to take a trip to clear her head, only to have her brother hamper her plans when he calls her to return a favor for his best friend…Trevor Myers. Owing Trevor for escorting her to her senior prom years earlier, she reluctantly agrees to play his girlfriend for the weekend.

Trevor expects a grownup version of the shy girl toting a sketchpad, not this drop-dead, gorgeous woman who leaves him tongue tied.

Piper decides it’s time to exorcise her long-simmering feelings, once and for all.

Trevor fights the battle waged between his playboy lifestyle and the elemental pull of the girl next door.

Operation: The Girl Next Door , is Hagen’s addition to the Imperfect Love Kindle World.  It’s hard to describe this fun novella, but it  is a barrel of laughs and drama.  See both the heroine and the hero have known each other for years and known each other is the perfect person for them. However they haven’t seen each other in  number of years because Trevor the hero didn’t know how to deal with  the intense feelings he had for Piper. His best friend’s little sister who he took to prom as a favour and instead found himself wanting the girl next door. Think She’s All That scenario, Piper the shy artistic teen girl and Trevor a big college player.  An odd match but opposites attract and you could say this is a second chance as neither knew what to do then .

Fast forward to the present and Trevor is now a blunt advertising executive who is one step away from making partner.  The only thing is he needs a girl fast. As his boss  expects  his new partner to be happily committed not just to his work.  Fact  is Trevor is a bit of player so he makes a fast move to protect his chances and throws Piper in the lion’s den without her knowledge.

It doesn’t matter to him what he has done. Even thought there are people’s chances at play and the fact that he is using Piper. Piper isn’t the same girl he took to Prom. Fact  is she isn’t shy girl he took to prom. She is all grown up and isn’t what he is expecting to be .  She is  the girl next door but she is career minded  and knows her boundaries when it comes to work.  She about to hit the big time with her business,  but she is scared of failure.

So a weekend away seems a good idea even if wasn’t what she planed. Still though she gets to clear mind and take a break. Though I don’t know if she ready for what Trevor has thrown into .

Throwing two people at pinnacle points of their respective careers together is genius  and I love the blunt Trevor and the sassy Piper. I loved they had a second chance in this fast past moving novella.  Time may of past but feelings never die even though they may of caused a problem or too.  Hagen knows how to get straight to the point and I love when the characters know what they want and go for it.

The only thing is I wished we got that prom scene as it left an impression on both of them it seems. It defined the novella as otherwise they wouldn’t have  these feeling simmering  and Trevor wouldn’t  have pulled her name out of thin air.

Pillow Talk – Brittany Holland

They say you can’t buy love.

But he did… he just doesn’t know it yet.

Falling for him was never part of the arrangement.

Neither was sharing his bed.

But I did both.

Pillow Talk  is Holland’s  second book and  I believe she has a long career in front of her. With smart snappy writing  and great characters. It  was hard not  to fall in love with Ben and Alexa the leads of this story.

Pillow Talk has a written connotation  with sex and it is a perfect title for this book. As that how this relationship grows and we allow to see their intimate thoughts  in bed when they explore their built up attraction  and feelings.  How they came together is a story in its self  as it starts off so perfectly. It does play out like a movie

Alexa is a broken college student, just like countless of them out there , trying to survive her way through college and get her degree. She has  got a level head on her shoulders and she knows her end goal. Unfortunately life has decided to take a detour and she is having  one of her worst days in her life.

Enter Ben, who is having a pretty bad day himself and doesn’t know what to do .  He doesn’t let the world to  see the real him as he prefers to be a ruthless business man.  However Alexa  sees right through him and  there is a connection that is undeniable.

With both in sticky situations, quickly  an arrangement is made that leads us into a intriguing arrangement    But  it is  only temporary right .  It  is conveyed that they aren’t going to be anything more.

Obviously you can guess what happened next. Even though I could see the end game, I was caught up with the story. Pillow Talk is a fun look at casual arrangements/relationships whatever you want to call it.  Whilst the relationship was built on the idea of  just that.  It was obvious that they weren’t going to get away from each other unscathed and I was invested them having an happily ever after.

As they had the same ideas and both of them weren’t bad people . They just need a push or two and I love when a relationship breaks the rules and this was a quick fun novella that  is not to be missed

Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Mira Gibson

American heartthrob and notorious bad boy, Zach Canning has gone and made the error of all Hollywood errors. No, it wasn’t sticking his foot in his mouth during an interview again, banging an almost underage fan, or even disappearing on another cocaine-and-booze addled bender. It was far, far worse, and now his TV show renewal contract hinges upon his ability to convince his fan base, the Christian Network, and America at large that he’s just as wholesome as his #Blessed character.

Jesus Christ, how?

Enter Abby Gallagher. As Irish-Catholic as they come, complete with flaming auburn hair and a cross dangling from her necklace, her image is perfect. She’s guarding one hell of a secret, however—she’s a virgin and saving herself for marriage.

When Zach’s publicist approaches her with the most unbelievable proposition—to dispel rumors surrounding the famous actor one sexy date at a time—Abby is more than intrigued. She’s been a fan of his show and has watched religiously… admittedly, a guilty pleasure.

What other guilty pleasures could he give her???

But the secret contract she’s presented with not only states she must pose as his girlfriend in the public eye while the paparazzi follow their every move. She must also elope with Zach in two weeks! Non-negotiable, legally binding, with a corresponding gag-order in place and no guarantee of true love…

Can she go through with it? Will she choose a thrill ride instead of love? What if she could have both with the same man?

This why I loved this Kindle World, as I get to discover authors  like this one. Signed, Sealed and Delivered is the sort of story that makes you sit up and take notice even though it cliché and trope as hell.   It has all  the right ingredients though and  that what makes it an intriguing and entertaining story.   With plenty of laughs, this novella is a must read  and has left  me wanting to re-read this novella until I get sick of it.

Zach Canning is supposed to be a clean  cut actor given his role in a Christian TV Show. Fact is that he is a playboy who has revolving  door of woman and party hard causing  one drama after another. Until he is  accused of being gay. A big no no give he supposed  be clean cut  like his character on  the TV show.  He isn’t half bad, just caught up with the Hollywood lifestyle.

He is one step away from being unemployed when his publicist comes up  clever idea that may save his bacon.   Find a clear cut woman that fits the target demographics and  elope with her  leading to Hence the title Signed, Sealed and Deliver

Could  of have been any woman of the streets or a blast from the past. Instead they find Abby , a hardcore fan….

Who someone how gets it to together and jumps at the chance and takes the opportunity with both hands. She may be the good girl  , Zach’s publicist is looking for .  Her thoughts are another matter,  as she is dreaming  of guilty pleasures she can indulgence with him.

A contradiction given that publicist wants one thing and  instead she got the other . I loved these two  and their story. It had the right elements that I enjoy in a romance  . Plus  Abby made Zach better. He knew  that he wasn’t perfect but she made him change things. Zach become a man that any girl would  have wanted and  I could see why Abby had those dreams involving him.    Grant had a great grasp on these two and I enjoyed their story.   One of  my favourites from this Kindle World
