I normally love Grace Goodwin books and I was look forward to Wild Wolf Claiming  when it turned up . It was something different, a slight departure from what I have come to association with Goodwin.  This one is a pure paranormal romance and a standalone as far I know.  It’s part of the Howl Romance brand which are paranormal takes on the clichés you find in contemporaries .

Goodwin offering is one that you could easily find in contemporaries. The heroine is a young woman sick of control that her grandfather has over her. Lily wants her own her life and doesn’t get why things are control in certain aspects. So she does the typical thing and decides to escape and make her own life in another state.

Well it seems simple and straight forward. Except there a whole lot more to this story that Lily has no clue about and we get thrown into like her.  As Lily doesn’t know the truth about her family and well she about to cause some problems that only one person can help.

It easy to get where the story is heading from the blurb and title considering  what is hinted . And whilst Godwin makes into a well rounded story that has plenty of action and entertainment . I couldn’t really connect  to the characters or the story as much I usually do with  Goodwin books. There nothing wrong with it . I didn’t like the flow or the way the story was told .  It is only a novella, but it is well written.

I can admit all that but I feel that it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be.  I think the fact that Lily was a little  bit weak when it came to push verse shove in her situation did deter me form this book. I love the strong heroines Goodwin writes. The ones who are willing to stand up for themselves yet obey their husbands like in The Colony books.  The way Lily went around it didn’t make me want to like her.  This may be a case the book didn’t work for me as I usually enjoy Goodwin’s books and will continue to read her others.  But will hope that she sticks to the heroines I have come to love from her .

Once upon a time, a young girl was born into an average, working class family. The wee little girl, convinced she was not an average child but was, in fact, a fairy princess, longed to leave the mundane world behind and live her dreams. She grew up, went to school, and when shed grown too big to wear tutus and tiaras in public without drawing unwanted attention, turned to writing down her fantasies instead.

Now a bit older, her fantasies have grown to include sexually dominant men who know how to ensure a woman’s pleasure. Grace believes all women should be treated like princesses, in the bedroom and out of it, and writes love stories where men know how to make their women feel pampered, protected, and very well taken care of. She currently lives in Oregon where she spends her days writing, and her nights in the arms of her very own Prince.
