Quinn Hamilton had it all—A grades, a loving family, and a spot on the waitlist for the latest Hermes handbag. The one item left unchecked on her to-do list was her brother’s best friend, Liam, and that was only because Braden was overprotective when it came to his mates.

When tragedy struck, Quinn was left with nothing. Not even the handbag made it.

Three years later, Quinn’s focused on the things that count—getting a steady job, looking after her mother, and playing it safe. Her dreams of working for a fashion magazine haven’t just left the building—they’ve dived into the gutter, never to be touched again.
But when completing a two-week internship in the city, Quinn meets someone who makes her do the one thing she’s been trying desperately to avoid—feel. Will this sexy man who knows so much of her history help her go after what she wants? Or is their brand of passion as outdated as last season’s trends?

She’s running from her past, but her past is running faster.

I finally read my first Lauren McKellar last year and I enjoyed that read. So when I saw she had a new book coming out. I jumped on it not realising it was a prequel to her book Fame last year. Whilst I wasn’t  prepared for that development  .  I soon found myself intrigued by this fast paced story that  was honest and true. As  everything is not like the  movies.

For Quinn, her life changed when her brother died nearly four years ago.  Kill in a car accident in which she was injured and left with a scar on her face. Quinn hasn’t been able to deal with the grief of loosing her brother. As in the aftermath Liam the boy she loved and Braden’s best friend walked away from her with out a trace.

Quinn hasn’t been able to cope with things and for the first time in nearly four years. She has forced herself to get out of  town and take a chance. She stayed close to him, in the hopes of not loosing the memories. However an opportunity to work at Lola the magazine she once dreamed off gave her mother the push to make her do so.

However for Quinn this opportunity isn’t something she particular keen as   it means pushing her comfort zone to limits. But things  happen fast and  soon she finds her facing her past when Liam turns up  out of the blue. Luring her out of the false security she has built for her self

Liam is happy to see her but  things aren’t exactly same. He got lost alone the way since he ahs been gone from Quinn’s life and is determined to be back in it. Throws Quinn for a spin as she doesn’t want to be hurt .

However isn’t that easy just turning him down and walking away, as Liam isn’t going to let  a second chance  to slip through his fingers.  However is this what the both of them need.

Fast was definitely lived up to its title. The prequel novel was a great point to start  with  and I enjoyed my introduced look into this world . Whilst mostly satisfying I have to wonder if there more from these two to come?

As it felt HEA for now. That they were on the right track but still had some way to go and can’t wait to read the next book in this series
