A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…
Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.
He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong—but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents…
But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.
I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.
If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?
I read Real yonks ago but never did write a review until now when I read the first four book in the series together as the first three books are about Remy and Brooke. Real only tells the first part of the story of Remington ‘Remy’ Tate and Brooke Dumas the one girl who gets thorough his barriers and changes him forever for better and the same time for the worst.
Remington Tate is the bad boy of the fighting scene, kicked out of the mainstream boxing and now he is the bona fide star of the underground fighting circuit. The ladies love him and the competitors want a piece of him. He has seized his second chance and made a new name for himself in this circuit and he is on his way to having it all. Until he meets Brooke and it changes everything he is fighting for in a second.
Brooke was fighting for her dream for so long as runner that she could almost taste it. However just in one second everything was destroyed when she suffered a career ending injury. It may have stopped her in her tracks but she picked up the pieces and moved on forging a new career. Until Remy walks into her life and offers her a job as his sport rehab specialist something that will set her on her way in her new career.
Though she may be kidding herself, as she wants Remy more than the job and she can’t fight these feelings. He tempts her like no other man has and that despite that he confuses the hell out of her. He isn’t like any other man he she has met and she can’t put a finger on it. He is a man of a few words, using music to ‘speak’ his interest to her as they form a bond over music and their connection. There is connection there that is indescribable, it like no other connection that I have read before. However where is this going, Remy is hiding so many things from her and Brooke may be willing to go along . But for how long is she going accept this ?
Real was nothing like I read before and still is. There is intensity in this book that I have never seen with any other couple. They had their own unique brand and this what makes the book tick along and you can’t explain it. IT is best if you read this book for yourself and discover Remy for yourself as he really makes the book extra little bit special . Don’t get me wrong Brooke is a special woman , strong and fierce determined to do things her way but Remy is all broody and raw is something you don’t want to miss.
Raw and real is only way to describe this how this book is written. It perfect style for this dark world of underground fighting and the secrets that are hiding in the shadows. This only the first part of their story but there is no cliffhangers or anything. It completes for now and therefore sets up a lot of secondary storylines that involves around secondary characters who almost could be say interloping with their story because they are begging for their own. I do hope we get their stories as I want to know all about this underground fighting circuit.
