When Calista McCoy moves from the slums of the Louisiana Bayou to an illustrious beach community in California, she knows her life is going to take a drastic turn. But once she arrives at the beautiful mansion by the sea, dark secrets are revealed…secrets that become even more complicated when she meets the gorgeous neighbor boy, Nicholas, and she feels an unexplainable–and undeniable–attraction. He’s everything she’s ever dreamed of. Literally.
Her new life seems almost too good to be true. But as everyone knows, when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
…And in Calista’s case, it could be deadly.
I was delighted by this book . It is something different to the usual paranormals I read . It was more on the edge of cute teenager love stories then the usual dark and twisted books that is associated with paranormal.
Calista is a powerful witch that doesn’t know she a witch . However it all changes and she learns the truth when she and her father moved into her grandmother’s house. Now Grandmother is a powerful witch in her own all right but she been searching for her granddaughter for a number of years. Now she has found her but she got a number of conditions to protect Calista . The most importantly is that her dad doesn’t know who her grandmother is really and what Calista is.
This is the first book I read from the author and not the last. I will be posting my review A Demon Made me Do It soon which is darker than this book but Witchy Witchy is one more teenagers can relate to as it more focus on the daily lives of Calista and her new friends. It reminds me of Sabrina except the boys in this novel are totally different. One is a warlock and another is a witch hunter and they both will play important parts in this novel.
I have to give this book 4 stars it a enchanting book and I enjoyed the story. It was a perfect introduction to this series, I love the author build up the characters first so we got a real insight before getting deep into the story and experiencing some interesting twists and turns .
